Who is Luna B?
Our mascot is Luna Bear or Luna B for short! Luna is a rambunctious Terrier mix who has a love for socks and playing outdoors. When she’s not making her mom chase her, she’s lounging around the house and enjoying life. We believe that Luna is a mix of Yorkie and Norfolk Terrier. She has a personality that shines bright!
Our Backstory
My name is Ariana and I grew up in Rome, GA. I moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in fashion and ended up working as a Product Developer. In 2018, I was volunteering at the Los Angeles County Animal Shelter. At the time, it was a kill shelter and known for frequent overcrowding. While there, I fell in love with a dog named Chloe. Her name didn’t fit her at all! She was owner surrendered by her previous owners and had a troubled past. I knew instantly that I had to take her home with me. She was staring at me all day and would whine if I passed by.
The name Luna fit her perfectly and almost instantly she would react to the name, even though she was a little over a year old. Shortly after, I ended up adopting a Schnauzer mix named Rocky, who had also been owner surrendered, twice. Owner surrendered dogs hold a special place in my heart. We try frequently to give back to local shelters in Georgia and California. After living in California, I decided it was time to move back. Now, we have settled down in Adairsville, GA and we love it! I couldn’t do it without the support of my Husband, Matt!
After years of brainstorming business ideas, I wanted to start a business that I was passionate about and connected back to what I’m good at! I mentioned that I worked in Fashion and Product Development. However, most of the time people have no idea what I do. Well, long story short, I make products come to life! I currently design all our packaging, sew our bandanas and create designs for our other printed items. My career has always focused on innovation and ideas. I’ve used that knowledge to develop Luna B’s. My hope is to eventually donate a portion of our profits from the custom designs to shelters.
For years, I would travel to a local Dog Bakery and think to myself, “Wow. This is cute idea, but I feel I could make this a more unique experience”. When writing the business plan, I thought about a theme and what summarized Luna’s style. What colors did I think of when I thought of her? She’s fun, she’s colorful and she’s a little crazy!
I always loved Palm Springs, CA and went there often to source products for my home. I loved the architecture and I’m a big Mid-Century Modern fan. My vision was to incorporate that style into a bakery and store, while offering the best products for your pups!
