High quality dog treats for your dogs!
Your dog(s) mean a lot to you and we understand! My name is Ariana and I’m Luna’s dog mom. I want to discuss in this post my background and more info about our treats! Our goal is to help you feel comfortable testing out our dog treats and gaining your trust as a customer! Let’s start with my background and what inspired me to introduce our first collection!
I have worked in the fashion industry for almost 15 years. I grew up in Rome, GA and then moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career. The first 8 years of that experience was dedicated to being a Technical Designer for apparel. To summarize what Tech Design is, it’s the step after a product is designed. I always describe it as, “my part is bringing the product to life, from paper to a physical product you can touch”. The second half of my experience has been spent working in Product Development and Sourcing. Product Development is very similar to Tech Design, except that it involves more creative problem solving (in my opinion). Product Sourcing aligns with manufacturing and plays a key part of being able to bring the product to life. There’s a lot more too it, but I’ve found that most people gloss over after a few minutes! To summarize, Product Development is being able to create the product and Sourcing is being able to find the right partners to ensure the best quality. All of the knowledge I’ve gained has helped to fuel my passion for opening a Dog Bakery! Now, let’s connect that back to our treats!
I’ve Sourced everything from handbag trims and headphones to inflatable chairs. I haven’t met a challenge yet that I haven’t been able to meet! Sourcing takes a lot of time and attention to detail. It involves finding reputable manufacturers that have high standards. Over the years, I’ve written contracts to ensure factories are compliant with strict quality standards as well. That is reason number one as to why I decided to work with a vendor that could meet high standards for the dog treats. I didn’t wake up one morning and suddenly know what I was doing, it takes years and detailed product testing to ensure the best quality! It’s also not as simple as private labeling a product. Anyone can do that. It’s the time and effort to find the right ingredients, ask the right questions, testing the products and gathering market research. What does the customer want? How many units should we start with? What key product details are needed on the packaging?
When working with our current manufacturer, I asked all of these questions. Are the treats good for allergies, are the treats soft for sensitive teeth, what is this random ingredient that I can’t pronounce? Also, a long time of living with dogs that have these sensitivities made me more aware of what the customer may need as well…or be looking for! I went as far as to try the treats myself. I wouldn’t recommend that because I’m not a doctor, but I was willing to make sure we chose the best! I also designed the packaging and went through every ingredient thoroughly, while explaining in parenthesis what the common name was, if I didn’t know.
The proper certification and licensing is also crucial and required to sell dog treats in Georgia. While eventually we would like to sell our own treats, I wanted to start with a manufacturer that knew what they were doing! That’s the second reason we chose to source the dog treats. I don’t know about you, but my kitchen isn’t always perfect and food grade safe or vigorously cleaned in every crevasse. I wanted to go about the business in a way that I knew we could be successful and my strengths. Our first collection is a test and it may change over time! We want to hear your thoughts and concerns and take those heavily into consideration when deciding to keep or replace a treat.
Chicken and Apple
The Chicken and Apple Dog Treats are soft and chewy. Meaning that they are easy to break apart and use as smaller pieces to test out or train with. The apple smell is comforting and smell delicious as soon as the packaging is opened! Chicken is a great source of protein and apples are high in Vitamin C. The reason we (Luna, my husband Matt and I) selected this treat was because we were aware that many dogs have sensisitive tummies. Apples have been linked to helping dogs with allergies and we’ll add additional links with info below! We’ll also continue to write about all of our treats and what we’ve heard back from customers at festivals, online and other outlets!
Peanut Butter
The Peanut Butter Dog Treat is crunchy and has a toasted smell. It’s like walking into a kitchen of fresh baked bread. All of the treats are made from upcycled bakery goods. That really comes through with these treats! This is a classic flavor and fan favorite! We chose this flavor not because of Luna (because she not a huge fan of PB), but because it’s a neautral flavor than many dogs can enjoy! The crunchy treats are small hearts and easy to carry.
Pineapple Papaya
Pineapple and Papaya are both suggested to be good for digestive health in moderation. I wanted to select a unique flavor but not too far out of the box that customers would be hesitant to try. Surpisingly, Luna loves these! She’s usually a meat eater, but these fruit flavored treats have a good mix. They’re soft and easy to tear apart as well. We usually recommend these for older dogs or dogs that prefer fruit.
Our treats are available in 5ox bags on our website. We also offer 1oz mini testers for $2.50 each or $6 for 3. Please message for the mini treats. They will be on the site soon! Local delivery available in North Georgia and we also ship nationwide.
All that we ask is that you give us a try and trust us to keep your dogs best interst in mind! I love Luna as much as you love your pup! I will use my years of Professional experience to try and always strive for the best!
